Summer Chemistry – Drew Newman
We have been trying something completely different in sequence and scope for summer chemistry where we start out observing changes in nature before learning the rules. So far, it’s working great; the students are excited and demonstrating a high level of knowledge. We have launched rockets and used candy to build chemical models and are looking forward to doing tie-dye and fermenting food. The volunteer student helpers are having a blast and working on a garden right outside the window.
