Swimming & Field Games
Sign up for a morning or afternoon of swimming and field games!
Here at MFS Summer Programs, we take pride in our Swimming and PE/Field Games program, but safety always comes first!
Note: the MFS swim program is suitable for every child, from non-swimmers to competent “fish” with strong stroke mechanics.
Each day, campers split their class time between swimming in our private pool and playing games/sports. This ensures a balance of recreation in a student’s day and between all ages using the pool. Students only swim and play field games with students from the same age division.
Beginning with our Mini Scholars, swimmers are assessed every Monday by a certified swim instructor and the Head Lifeguard. Tuesday through Thursday, students are provided with swim lessons, with Friday being a “free swim” and pool game day! Appropriate and safe pool toys are provided. (Please do not bring personal toys or squirt guns from home.) Three certified lifeguards are always present and vigilant, as safety is our main concern at the pool. Swimmers who are not comfortable with the pool just yet are provided with adjustable swim floatation training belts to help support them in the shallow end while they gain their confidence. Kiefer® swim bars and kickboards are also provided during instruction time. And of course, noodles are plentiful.
Our PE/Field Games portion of the class consists of a variety of outdoor field games and indoor court games. Over the course of the week, campers may engage in activities such as tennis, soccer, basketball, ping pong, gaga pit, kick ball, relay races, volleyball, lacrosse, and more. Our PE/Field Games Instructor is a certified Physical Education instructor and coach. He is here to create an environment of fun, safety, and friendly competition at an age-appropriate level.
