Week 1: June 25 – 29

Coding and Robotics: The Beginning (AM)
Teacher: TBA

Learning another language comes more easily at an early age. The language of computer programming is at play all around us, reshaping our world, and defining the future. The fun will begin with symbols and directives so that children will slowly grasp what steps are taken to “teach” or “program” a robot to move, an animation to play, and an application to run. This intuitive week of instruction will be interwoven with plenty of games and parallel play that connects with coding and robotic lessons.

Extending the length of the day for our youngest children, Tot Extended Day offers a low-key environment in the afternoon. Children will eat lunch, nap, and engage in play both inside and out.

Week 2: July 9 – 13

Literature and Building: Exploring Structures in Favorite Stories (AM)
Teacher: Merrie Romea

Using some time favorite children’s stories as a launching point, Tot Scholars will explore different kinds of buildings and construction.  Imagine reading “Hickory Dickory Dock” and building the clock out of materials, or reading Three Billy Goats Gruff and making a bridge in the construction area.  The possibilities are endless as children connect with and extrapolate upon their love of stories through the language of building.
