VineyardAppCamp

IntroApp

Instead of just teaching your child to code, help them become a young entrepreneur! In this highly personalized course, your student builds and releases their own iOS app on Apple’s AppStore, and gains the ability to call themselves a young entrepreneur. Along the way, they build friendships with others in the course, develop lifelong confidence, and get the chance to brag to friends and family about their creation. They also cement 21st century skills and the initiative needed to thrive in the job market. This course is best for Middle and Upper School students. Students will get personal attention as they learn, with all classes having one instructor for every five students. Instructors are empathetic, experienced individuals who work to understand your student and do what’s necessary to help them launch their app of interest.

Within the course, we create an engaging, fun atmosphere, recreating as much of the in-person summer camp experience as we can for kids while working remotely. Many students build apps that are directly applicable to their communities, or incorporate a wonderful service element. For example, a previous student built and launched a foodbank access app for his area. We also take security very seriously – there’s no open access to the Internet during the course.

The VineyardAppCamp program runs for one week, meeting for 3 hours a day. Students who love the course have the option to add weeks, one at a time, in order to add more features to their app and increase their coding knowledge and abilities. (Warning: Coding may become their favorite pastime.) This is also a great course to take with friends.
