Building STEAM – Jenna Robinson
This week, Mini Scholars have measured and recorded how many pennies could sink their tinfoil boats and also how rainbows are formed. Tuesday they learned that technology can be more than computers, phones, and software applications – that in fact, technology can be a chair or a table. Today, they became civil engineers and constructed bridges for animals to pass from one landscape to another! Tomorrow we’ll explore lots of art materials! Be sure to look for paintings inspired by Jackson Pollock, and collages and sculptures by Picasso and Matisse! And on Friday, we will finish with lots of group math games and activities!
Swimming – Josh Ponter
We had a great time at the swimming this summer. Other than a couple rainy days we have had amazing weather. All the swimming had a great time and improved so much over the summer. I am very proud of everybody. I hope everyone has a great rest if their summer and good luck for the coming school year.
Tennis – Moorestown Tennis Club
The youth tennis campers have been having a lot of fun this week learning and practicing the game of tennis! Monday the scholars worked on their rallies. Tuesday they learned to serve the ball and volley close to the net. Wednesday the students continued to practice their serves close to the net, but expanded on this skill by learning and practicing how to return a serve. Thursday the students will learn tactics of the game and Friday we will finish the week of with fun games that use a culmination of all the skills the scholars have learned!
